Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz, professionally referred to as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. She was named by her parents after the town where her birthplace was. Michel Horowitz was her father and Cynthia Palmer, his mother who were both authors as well as editors. Ryder's father was born into an ethnically Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Ryder is the sister to Uria, and has half-siblings Jubal & Sunyata. Ryder moved together with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. They resided in an area without electric power. No televisions were the only way for Ryder to pass the time. Eventually, she started to become a keen reader. In 1983, when she was 12 Ryder was accepted into the American Conservatory Theatre to take classes in acting. Ryder landed her first film role on the large screen in 1986 when she was 15 years older. Ryder faced bullying in high school. Her professional acting, she believed that it would aid her. However, it didn't occur. However, she remained committed to her dream. She got her break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder played successful roles for numerous films. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated at the Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part in The Age of Innocence.
