When she was a young girl, she was hospitalized for a period of 6 months before being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. The athlete became famous due to his ice skating exploits alongside Denis Samokhin, a compatriot. The pair competed in the Junior World Championships in two distinct years. They placed eighth in 1993 and seventh in 1994.
